Izumi Shikibu - May 25, Iyengar I

Wind and weather, lunar and hail, it’s been quite a dramatic few days. That’s a pretty ordinary reading of this lovely multi-layered piece. I suspect this woman was often underestimated.

Although the wind

blows terribly here,

the moonlight also leaks

between the roof planks

of this ruined house.
